At the close of the first quarter of 2026 Jetour reported a figure that is remarkable for a brand founded in 2018: more than 2.26 million vehicles delivered cumulatively. By the company’s own account, Jetour is the first car brand to pass the two-million mark within seven years of being founded.
For European buyers this is not a statistic for its own sake. Production volume decides how long parts stay available, how quickly software is developed further, and how seriously a manufacturer can underwrite warranty promises.
Why the number is more than marketing
Two million cars in seven years means a production volume that established European manufacturers built up over decades in comparable segments. It is carried above all by the boxy T2 off-road SUV and the X70 and X90 SUV series — models selling in large numbers in China, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
The group structure makes it possible: Jetour is a brand of Chery Holding Group, one of China’s largest vehicle exporters. Development, platforms and supplier relationships are shared with the rest of the group, creating economies of scale a standalone brand of this size would never reach.
Three concrete consequences for buyers in Europe
- Parts supply: components of a model built in six-figure annual volumes stay available for a long time — unlike small-series imports.
- Software maintenance: OTA updates only pay off for a manufacturer above a certain fleet size. That threshold was passed long ago, and the 10-year software warranty is in writing.
- Residual value: an internationally known brand with volumes in the millions is easier to explain at resale than an exotic car with no track record.
